There is an urgent need to educate the next generation to become informed, engaged citizens in today’s political climate. But most California students are only required to study civics in 12th grade, which may be too late to instill the knowledge and skills future citizens need. If you believe that civic learning needs to be a priority for every California student, beginning in elementary school, get involved in our Coalition. We are dedicated to martialing federal, state, and local resources and promoting state and local policies that will strengthen our democracy by preparing all students to be informed, skilled, empathetic, respectful, active, and engaged citizens.
